For the first time in years, I haven't seen any exit polls leak on election day. That's probably because they've locked all the analysts in a room all day without phones or Blackberries. They're supposed to be let out about now, so I expect we'll see some numbers soon.

In 2004, early exit poll data showed John Kerry ahead significantly in some key states, and some people believe that the polls were right, and proved that the Republicans stole the election. I think that's unlikely, but it might be worth debating while we wait for real results tonight.

Do you pay attention to early exit poll numbers?

How much credence do you give them? What are they good for, and what are their weaknesses?

Heard any early results yet? smile.gif?
