Effect: "Obama evolves on coal"

"Shocking"

What isn’t shocking is that you would provide inaccurate information [propaganda] from a source like the Washington Examiner. Obama has talked about clean coal since the beginning of his administration.

Here’s an example from February 2010.

http://grist.org/politics/2010-02-01-obama...clear-and-coal/

This is how the Washington Examiner distorts the truth.

The headline:

“Tim Carney blasts MSNBC for trivial Romney stories”

The truth is that Carney tried a bait and switch and Tamron Hall, great Texas journalist, didn’t let him get away with it. Go Tamron. thumbsup.gif

"There is nothing left of the claim that Elizabeth Warren is 1/32 Cherokee. The documentary sources have been debunked, and the genealogist and genealogical society which originated the story and upon whom the Warren campaign relies are not talking."

JP Morgan loses US2 billion after bet goes wrong

QUOTE
Updated May 11, 2012 13:29:00

The Wall Street bank JP Morgan says the firm has lost US2 billion dollars on a risky portfolio of securities because of a derailed hedging strategy. Chief executive Jamie Dimon says the trading error was a self-inflicted mistake because of sloppiness and bad judgment.

Looks like the bank went down the primrose path thanks to derivatives trading.

Wonder what Mitt Romney will have to say about this one? Need for still fewer government regulations on the banks? Yeah, right.

...

What $2 billion means to JP Morgan:

1. About 10% of its 2011 net profit.

2. Less than 6.7% of its operating income.

3. About 1% of its equity.

4. About 0.1% of its assets.

Perspective, "PE". Perspective. "It's a good thing", as Martha Stewart would say.

Don't know. Given that he's running for office, I imagine he'll be expected to come up with some sort of political answer. Otherwise, his answer would be quite similar to what mine would be in reaction to a trading/investment decision that resulted in my losing 0.1% of my assets:"Pffft. I've had worse days." Heck, Jon Corzine (former Dem U.S. Senator and then New Jersey Governor, Obama campaign finance bundler, and Obama/Biden "go to guy" on the economy and stuff) has (so far, anyway) cost me a hell of a lot more than that.

Urban Renewal, capitalist style.

Media fails to vet yet another Socialist/Progressive. Surprise, surprise, surprise, he isn't "Joe Average" as represented. Just another self-hating Socialist?

That's one thing that just ticks me right the hell off. I hate that state legislatures (like mine) are so scared that their sports teams are going to go somewhere else that they cough up hundreds of millions to keep them. Bah.

...actually, the vote total on President Obama's budget proposal is 513-0 against....if we were keeping score.....finally we have found something that both parties can agree upon....even if for different reasons.

Which should serve as incontrovertible proof that what the "reality-based community" has been trying to tell everyone within shouting distance all along is true:

President Obama, doggone it, is a UNITER! /

I was referring to a recent Senate vote. But you are right. Both parties can agree that the Obama budget like the similar 2009 budget, will not fly.

But the Democrats keep criticizing the Ryan budget with no alternative even they like........go figure

Mark Zuckerberg gets married. (after becoming a multi-billionaire for sure)

This reminds of something I came across yesterday, at Marginal Revolution (IIRC, that's a site you visit, but you might have missed this particular item):
QUOTE
...
Divorce lawyers and wedding planners have been gearing up for the Facebook IPO, waiting for the influx of wealth in Silicon Valley to stir up drama in romantic relationships, for better and for worse.

“When Google went public, there was a wave of divorces. When Cisco went public there was a wave of divorces,” says Steve Cone, a divorce attorney based in Palo Alto, near the social network’s Menlo Park headquarters. “I expect a similar wave shortly after Facebook goes public.”

Online bids rise for apparent vial of blood from Ronald Reagan

I am not surprised to learn that some people have money to throw away. I am forced to wonder however; do the bidders hope to collect enough DNA to clone Ronald Reagan for a possible run in 2048, destroy the sample to prevent a clone of Ronald Reagan from being created, or does Bain Capital plan to turn a profit by selling shares in Ronald Reagan derivatives...
