One from last summer

More than three months after the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel, the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council finally reached agreement on a draft statement "deploring and condemning the March 26 attack, but not directly blaming North Korea". Shocka.

I expect (psychic that I am) sometime around Easter they'll come up with another letter (maybe using Times New Roman font for emphasis) also "deploring but not blaming" North Korea for the latest attack on a S Korea Island.

Apparently, according to the WikiLeaks documents, a lot of the world's leaders don't like, trust, or respect each other.

Apparently, the Egyptian authorities are on a track which in accordance with this thread, isn't really a surprise.

The Egyptian authorities have announced that they are not ruling out Mossad as being behind the attacks...

Walmart has joined the War on Terror.

Anyone shopping at a Walmart who could stop international terrorism now knows that he or she SHOULD do so.

Excellent.

Wow. That IS a shock! (given that 67% of US prisoners are rearrested and 52% are reincarcerated)
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0933722.html

What do you suppose we are we doing right as to terrorists that we are doing wrong as to other criminals?

How many rearrested US prisoners were jailed on terrorism charges and later released and went back to it? That’s the metric MMN. So yes it is a shock.

The number should be zero for terrorism but neither Bush nor Obama can get it right and all we see is the % rising.

Oh. 50% recidivism is acceptable for murderers, rapists, thieves, and drug dealrers. But a different metric applies to terrorists. Thanks for clarifying.

This one goes in the gray area of "shouldn't be a shock but is anyway." Lehman auditors are facing a big fat lawsuit from New York State Attorney General/Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo:
QUOTE
It was only a matter of time: back in March, following revelations of the Lehman Repo 105 scam, we speculated that the days of Ernst & Young are numbered. Back then we said "we are confident that (again, with the assumption that we live in some semblance of a sane/ration world), E&Y's Financial Services Office is done... and quite possibly the entire firm. Integrity is the number one currency for an auditor, and just like Anderson, E&Y's just went out in a puff of green-colored smoke." Today we learn that Andrew Cuomo is about to make E&Y's life a whole lot more difficult. Per the WSJ "State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is close to filing the case, which would mark the first time a major accounting firm was targeted for its role in the financial crisis." Too bad - E&Y was surely hoping that just like everything else in this corrupt country, out of sight would mean out of mind, and soon everyone would forget about the firm's involvement in the biggest bankruptcy in history. Better luck next time...

No actually it not acceptable for them either but certainly not for the most despised criminals in recent history.

One would have thought we could do better…….

But I guess for you its ok since hey the standard is low – thanks for clarifying
