The French obviously want to keep a psycho in power. Of course, all that oil in someone else's hands makes them nervous at the thought.  I guess they would rather support Saddam financially than some democratic government

1. Bush is the psycho.

2. The US can't stand the thought of oil in someone elses hands.

3. They would not be supporting democracy but US Occupation.

Anything by Rush or O'Reilley cannot be taken seriously...

By you that is....of course, I'm not a huge Rush fan either.

I've also heard quite a bit about several grass roots campaigns in several states to boycott French goods.
I doubt it will go to far, but it's an interesting sidenote to all this.

No offense, but I've heard this boring stuff from uneducated protesters on TV

1. Does Bush gas his own people? Does he blow up Spy planes? Does he shoot at F-14's who are trying to protect the defensless kurds in the Northern No-Fly Zone?

2. Since when?

3. Occupation can take on some many meanings. My definition of "occupation" is occupying a country in order to restore order to prevent mini-wars from breaking out in a war-torn country (Kosovo & Bosnia are lovely examples)

Hussein is the snake in this case.
Chirac is behaving in a typically French way. Remember the French sucked us into Vietnam in the early 1950s by threatening to withdraw its support for the Korean War and threatening to withdraw from NATO. This is during the Marshall Plan and only a handful of years after we did France the greatest favor we have ever done for them.

Calling Bush psycho is unproductive and undermines the anti-war movement. He is rational and convinced he is doing the right thing. I just disagree with his path.

The French boycott amuses me. I don't import French weapons or nuclear equipment. I rarely buy high fashion and I just had to quit my French car habit.

The only I can do to symbolically hurt the French economy is to stop buying Yoplait, french fries, french toast, and french toast.

Take that frenchies!

Although we generally disagree on ideology Eeyore. I enjoy your candor (because of this statement) when debating.

Sorry, but IMO,Bush is a psycho. The man enjoys the power he get's from putting people to death, from his actions this is obvious. He did it as governor and now as president. He believes he is God.

I seriously believe he is the next Hitler. I am glad the French are standing firm, I am glad Russia is as well reading todays reports and I hope Turkey stands firm.

Hmmm...and this all relates to France's economic policies with Iraq - HOW????? blink.gif

He is not psycho. The only people he wants put to death are terrorists like Saddam & Osama

He isn't slaughtering people for the fun of it like Hitler did. Give me one piece of evidence that he is like Hitler

They aren't against a war with Iraq, they just want more aid money in return for base usage for the war on Iraq
