On thing I find intriguing when it comes to the issues of prostitution and pornography is the response from womens advocacy groups.
Women like the well known NOW member Andrea Dworkin (Who died on April 9th and will be missed), have campaigned against Prostitution and Pornography for years.
I find it interesting that for many, a woman's right to choose what to do with her own body does not seem to extend to prostitution in many cases, and pornography is some cases as well.
I have not had much luck searching the net for a reasoning behind this other then then blanket statements about the subjugation or degradation of women. I sure would like to know the reasoning behind what appears to be hypocrisy to me.
Do you support Abortion rights but oppose the legalization of prostitution? Please elaborate as to your reasoning behind your position either way.No. I support abortion rights limited to the first trimester and also support the legalization of prostitution.
Beyond the first trimester, the issue isnt' the "woman's body". The issue is killing a baby and that's morally and ethically wrong. The democrat's extreme support for infanticide, even at late term of gestation, is incomprehensible. If the NRA advocated allowing individuals to keep and bear Stinger missiles, they would be labeled as "extremists" (as they are for the fact that they interpret the second amendment of the bill of rights as it was intended). Yet, NOW and NARAL advocate legal infanticide and are only branded "advocates"? What a world we live in, huh?
