It would be nice to have a AD emoticon.
Like :AD: would become AD or something more fancy!

I don't wish to see a situation where everyone asks for their favourite icon to be created as a Smilie*, and therefore I don't think that this thread should turn into a collective wishlist of emoticon requests.

But I tend to agree on this specific point. I think an AD emoticon is an excellent idea.

Edited to addUnless I get to be first in the queue with a Welsh dragon!

Good work that man! Did you have that up your sleeve already, or was it a quick thing to do?

It was very quick and easy. I read the topic, opened photoshop, and within 5 minutes, we had the emoticon. wink.gif

Sometimes the simplest designs work best. Of course, now, Jaime has informed me TWICE that she wants it as a sticker for the car. tongue.gif

Mike,

I can't see the new emoticon for some reason. Probably has to do with me using Firefox on Linux. I can see all the other emoticons just fine.

I even tried going directly to http://www.americasdebate.com/forums/style.../default/ad.gif, but the page does not display.

This, however, works fine: http://www.americasdebate.com/forums/style...fault/smile.gif

Any ideas?

Heh... are you running AdBlock? laugh.gif

AD ... short for "advertisement" maybe... ?

Try giving us an exception if you're running it.

Yup. innocent.gif

That did the trick! Thanks!

Are you planning on adding ad.gif to the "Clickable Smilies" section that appears when you are writing a post?
Mike
The problem with that is that right now, we have 6 nice rows of 6, all lined up and looking nice. Number 37 will create the ugliness.

I'll move some of the other smiles that aren't clickable into a new row so it still looks nice.

But, the hack I wrote to manage the order of the emoticons was quick and dirty-- I have to manually order them in the database. So, I probably won't get to it tonight... wink.gif

is it possible to get a bigger version of ad.gif to use for a blog link? If it were bigger it would be perfect to add as a clickable link.

just a suggestion.

If you need it for a specific background color, just post the color and I can whip up an image for you pretty quick. smile.gif

y'all probably have means to print your own, but I have employed the services of this site: www.makestickers.com and they do great work. they turn things around in a few days. any sticker you want for $4.95, no charge for shipping.

It's definitely a good thought, niftydrifty. We plan on having more products made up in the relatively near future. Our next product is most likely going to be coffee mugs (we're getting 144 of them), and then we'll use the revenue from that to get even more products.

We like to buy in bulk. It is the only way we can offer products at a reasonable price, and actually have enough margin to generate some revenue.

We have a printer who did our bumper stickers, and, if I recall correctly, they came out to about a quarter each when buying about 250 or so. We'll probably get some more bumper stickers, and possibly get this sticker done, too. smile.gif
