Mike/Jaime:

If you have waited patiently for a reply to your PM, and it is urgent, you may have better luck emailing the person. Some browsers, allow you to turn off javascript and/or popup windows. If this is the case, one would have to remember to specifically check your messages... it's a hard thing to get in the habbit to do.

Just a thought....

Yep, fully aware of that.

However, we never specifically ask members whether or not they wish to receive email from us. While tacit permission is implied, we would rather default on the side of caution and prevent being branded "spammers".

If we find members aren't reading PMs we send regarding discipline (the only reason we post the "Check your PMs" post), we will simply put them in the restricted group until the PMs are read.

As you have probably all guessed by now - I am severely techno-challenged, so here goes a dumbo question.....

when I come into the board and I see at the top:

"- 0 new messages -" doesn't that mean I don't have any new messages? Do I still have to go to my message inbox? And I also get an e-mail too. (so far all my messages have been nice smile.gif) I mean, I don't mind if I do, but knowing that I HAVE to do that to see new messages would be useful information to know.

told ya it was a dumb question.....smile.gif

You're fine, Basheva. The message didn't apply to you.

P.S. I hardly consider you new anymore biggrin.gif
Mike
...and yes, Basheva, "0 new messages" will change to "1 new message" if you receive a new message, and won't change back, I believe, until you read it.

I'll send you a test PM now...

Mike
