A few months ago I was asked to participate in one of the most prestigious events that a person under the age of 18 could ever hope to do. I was nominated to attend one of the annual NJLC conferences, which begins tomorrow at noon and shall last through July 10th. Needless to say I am going.
I won't be able to keep ya'll up to speed on what is going on while I am at the conference because I won't have an internet connection and I won't have the ability, what with the conference's schedule, to update you regularly. Our day begins around 7 in the morning and ends around 10:20 at night.
I wasn't excited at first, but as my father and I were driving our way across country (from Florida to North Carolina, we have a summer house here so it is only a six hour drive in the morning) the tension I felt when I first got the letter inviting me to attend started to mount. I'm very glad now I've had some preliminary debate-training on this site, for I have heard by word of mouth that the session I selected is quite brutal when it comes to debate, and just think, no rules.
We'll be housed at Gallaudet University, however we will be outside of the campus a good bit of the day doing things pertaining to the conference. I am looking quite forward to telling my congressmen about America's Debate because one of the days I'm spending nearly three hours with him.
I'll try to keep ya'll posted as much as I can and if I can't get on at all I'll give you the highlights when I return.
My Session for NJLCI'll miss everyone!

Have a good 4th of July!

P.S. Mike, if you're reading this we couldn't try Debi's because we were driving through Savannah around 5:30 this morning, but I got my dad to agree to try it on the way home. Thanks again for the tip.
