Is it an economy stimulant that allows taxpayers to keep thier money OR is it a budget deficit stimulant aimed at reliving rich people from paying their fair share of taxes?  Sure Stotty, it'll help you out a bit....have to give the little guy something to cover up what the stimulus package is really all about.

You people try to take credit  for all of Clinton's success, while making excuses for Bush's failures.

How did I in any way try to take credit for Clinton's successes? And what do you mean by "you people." Do you mean white, or middle class, or males? Just curious. Also, I do not see why everyone keeps harping about how the rich are the only ones helped by the tax cut. I am fine with the fact that someone making $200k a year is going to get a larger break from the tax cut. It is only logical since they pay about 5 times the amount of taxes that I do. And you cannot just say, well the economy was in good shape when in Clinton was if office, so he is responsible for it all. Now whether he had anything to do with it or not I am not arguing that, just that you can't make such a generalized statement. biggrin.gif

Oh boy! I KNEW, when I used the phrase "you people" I shouldn't be doing it. Actually, I meant you and Basheva, and some others.

I CAN say that the economy was good when Clinton was in office. I DO give him credit for it. I CAN say that the economy is bad now. Those are just simply THE FACTS.

Some conservatives (not you especially) refuse to give Clinton credit, while making excuses for Bush.

Uh-oh, Madtown - that phrase has even earned itself a place in the dreaded Buzz Words thread. Think about it.

I notice that when Bush get's an idea in his head he doesn't waste any time carrying it out. Who knew he was so committed to the AIDS issue in Africa? Did anyone else catch his speech this morning where he explained his commitment? It seems like just days ago that he mentioned it for the first time in his SOUA.

But he's obviously been concerned about it for some time because he already has a plan in place and has pledged the additional millions to start rolling out in 2004. I'm impressed. I just wonder if he ever has to ask congress or anyone else before he reaches into the piggy bank. Not that I'm against helping Africa because they are in desperate need. I just doubt his conservative base will be thrilled.

But...it's not just money he says we can contribute. We also have skills, technology, AND last (but not least) our pharmecuticles.

Allright, it's been about three weeks.

I think we're about done reflecting.

Moving to old news...
