Why are Iraq and Terrorism lumped together? Didn't the CIA say that the two aren't connected?

We have many threads that address that issue. This is not one of them.
Please share with us your thoughts on the topic - the biggest concern for our country.

I would say that for the time being working to develop the best homeland security system we can without much intrusion to our civil liberties is job number one.
After that I think our fiscal future is a critical issue. National and debt and Social Security our my big concerns here.

Whoopsie... my bad.
If I were American I'd have to say that the largest concern for your country is the disturbing shift in the checks-and-balances system of gov't.

the biggest concern for america is the bush regime. they seem very intent on destroying the constitution and bill of rights and enslaving the american people.

Enslave his people! Not only is that one of the most un-American things I have ever heard, but it is also, not even close to being even the least bit true. I would love to see some "evidence" of this.

Start a thread. I have little doubt unabomber will respond. (At least you didn't question the regime's destruction of the Constitution and Bill of Rights - which, I'd agree is one of our country's biggest concerns - or
should be.)

I say the biggest concern right now is Medicare, HMO's, Drug Prices for Seniors & Mal-Practice lawsuit laws need to be passed
Mal-Practice lawsuits are turning kids off on the idea of becoming doctors
Drug Prices make Seniors pay more than they can afford
HMO's: Bureacracy...nuff said

It is almost impossible to believe that as we stand on the brink of war and continue to stare down the barrel of the next terrorist attack, anyone could choose HMOs and senior drug prescription costs as the major issues facing our nation.
Chances are if we put all our energy where you'd like us to, you might be able to afford your health care, but you wouldn't be alive long enough to use it.

Try peace and quiet to bring up my kids and see my grandkids.
Allowing others to be what they are, regardless of creed and culture and living your life the best you can.
Understanding, compassion and accepting a hit on the chin occasionally.
This is what 87% of my country wants.
Is this what America wants?.

Bill Maher had a show called "Politically Incorrect". His show in the week following the hijacking of planes to be used as missiles had some criticism of how the Unitied States conducted foreign affairs and how this, perhaps, might stimulate the formation of terrorists groups. The Bush administration released a statement that such talk was inappropriate and "...has no place in this country." It was a red flag to me. Subsequent actions and statements by the Bush administration has convinced me that liberty is indeed being lost. This actual damage is a much bigger problem than the suspected threat of Saddam Hussan.
If this country does not stand up for liberty, we are in dire straits.

The economy is on the mend and will self correct.
War with Iraq is not as likely today as it was last week. If it happens it will happen on the new moon early March. It will be over before the first quarter shows in the night sky. "We own the night"
I am the lone single vote for Korea. I really thought they would have settled this by now. China is playing a dangerous game of wait and see. NK is trying to get the USA to bow to them and come to the table. We simply cannot do that it would mean the certain annihilation of hundreds of thousands of Asian's. If we bow to NK today over the next several years the entire area will go hot.
Long term biggest risk to the USA today may indeed be North Korea. I didnt think so a week ago...thought they needed attention but they werent a large risk. Today I am not so sure...

I think the economy will mend itself, as it is already doing. I do believe that Iraq is a threat to the U.S. as is North Korea. It seems that N. Korea thinks it can dictate terms to the world and the U.S. now that they have nukes, but this country is not bowing to their demands, which I think is good. All N. Korea wants is more of the U.S.'s money and food. I do think the gov't needs to quit bickering and enact more tax cuts and help get the economy moving again. As far as Iraq goes, the only reason they are caving in to some of the U.N. resolution's demands is because of the threat of force, which is the only thing Saddam understands. I do agree that some of the things the Bush's admin. has done oversteps what should be allowed when it comes to our personal privacy, such as the Patriot Act, and I do not agree with Bush's imposing of steel tariffs to cater to the steel unions and workers. I believe we are doing the right thing in Iraq by forcing them to comply with what the U.N. has demanded of them. A lot of people say that Iraq does not pose an "immediate threat" to this country, but I also think that before 9/11 if we knew were Osama Bin Laden was, and were able to take him out, a lot of people would have said we should not do anything because he did not pose an "immediate threat." No one knew there was an immediate threat until 3000 people died, and I do not want that to happen again. We are not going to see an army marching and building up like in past wars, and therein lies the problem. The fact remains that you cannot expect people like Saddam or Osama or Kim Il Jung (SP?) to abide by resolutions or treaties, and believing they will is very dangerous.

None of the above. The biggest issue to me has always been the ever increasing size, scope and pervasiveness of government.
