Peter Jennings, the newsanchor for ABC News, died Sunday night, just four months after announcing that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

I will miss him.

So many good people have been lost to us due to the consequences of smoking. I can't understand why young people in particular continue to take up the habit in the face of so much evidence that it is dangerous. I hope that Jennings' passing will provide that extra encouragement to someone to lose the habit for good.
