I laugh when I think that one of Dubya's campaign slogan's in 2000 was "don't get Gored at the pump!".

Gas was only $1.00 a gallon back then. Now that we are getting "Bushwacked" at the pump instead, we are now paying $2.70 a gallon.

Since we now know that the whole oil/gas shortage story was a lie, is there anything the American Public can do to curtail the run-away train disguised as gas prices?

An idea that I had was boycotting just one of the conglomorates such as Exxon/Mobile or Shell/Texaco. If the people collectively boycotted (just refused to purchase gas from) just one of them, would it force them to lower their prices thus forcing everyone to follow? My pick would be Exxon?Mobile because I believe they are the largest.

Would this tactic work, or would their be other ramifications of such actions?
