I just don't understand this...Can somebody clear this up for me. Are these pro war hawks faking when they act as though they are bothered by seven dead astronauts who died doing something they loved and wanted to do? These seven astronauts knew the risks they were taking and accepted it. Unfortunately, they never made it back to earth.

But I really don't understand how so many pathetic faking people are acting so hardened and sad from it all. This exploding shuttle has been all over the news. What about the civilians that are going to be killed in Iraq?

How can a pro war American put on a sad face over seven international astronauts who died doing their duty (who knew the risks) then completely brush off the fact that thousands of Iraqians soldiers will be forced to defend their country and ultimately perish?

And What about the civilians? .....

How can one brush off the fact that hundreds of civilians in Iraq will be killed by American fire power but then put on their saddest faces when confronted with seven dead astronauts--7 measly people who died knowing the risks?

Does this make sense? "Civilian always die in war. That is just a part of war but it is Saddam's fault if hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians are killed." The same people who say this stuff are all over the news right now in full pathetic glory pouting about how they are saddened by such a tiny loss of astronaut life. HOW ARE THESE FAKING SYMPATHIZERS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?

---Are you fooled by the sad faces that many of these phony news reporters put on as they are reporting the loss of this space shuttle Columbia?

---How is the death of these astronauts more tragic than the blood American is going to shed in Iraq?

Aw come on. Astronauts know the risks they are facing but that does not mean it is not a tragedy when something goes wrong. For many Americans something like a space shuttle can represent a national symbol. It represents what we can accomplish as a nation. Its failure is an American failure.

Then it is compartmentalized. Joseph Stalin said something like one death is a tragedy a million deaths are a statistic.

This is a high profile event that can be personalized into the tragic deaths of seven heroic people. The are positive role models and meant no harm to anyone in their roles as space travellers.

It is like the death of a celebrity. Does writing about the death of a celebrity demean the lives of everyone else who dies on that day?

I feel for the families of these people who shared the dreams and have to face the nightmare.

I want no war, and I want us to realize the number of people we are throwing into harms way because of an artificially accelerated timeline. But I am not fake if I think the loss of astronauts is a tragedy.
