Today's quoatation from Saddam is priceless. He speaks out against the idiocy of acting unilaterally. Is this self-criticism?

In this article from the San Francisco Chronicle.

He said he did not think it was wise for any leader -- even one with the power of the United States -- to try to "do without the rest of the world."

"If this person chooses to stay on this planet and ignore the rest of the world, then the least we can say is that this person is lacking in wisdom," he added.

laugh.gif I assume attacking Kuwait, obstructing weapons inspections, and violating Security Council resolutions doesn't count as ignoring the rest of the world, eh?

Perhaps he is growing resigned to his fate? whistling.gif

Moif,

Do you imagine, then, that he will voluntarily leave office?

This is what everyone said before the first war over there too. They said he would get out of Kuwait at the last miniute.

He didn't.

I think Saddam Hussein does not know how to back down. My previous comment was tongue in cheek (hence the smiley).

My only uncertainty with regards to the SH is whether or not he would kill himself rather than be taken alive.

I agree that he is incapable of knowing when to back down.

I DON'T think he will kill himself ala Hitler in the Bunker, though.

Wow, we agree on something, Mr. Moif. I think we will be very close friends! You seem an agreeable sort.
