Poverty kills 16,000 people a day. (2000 9/11s per year)
Violence kills roughly a 1,000 people a day (a few hundred 9/11s per year, assuming theres no genocide)
And Terrorism kills around 10 people per day (generally the equivalent of 1 9/11 a year, though it was 2 in 2001)
Thus, why is terrorism so important? It doesn't seem like a war on poverty is any less winnable then a war on terrorism, so if were going to fight a losing battle, why not make it a worthy one?
Or if, we need to be self centered, lets start a war on crime. Homicide rate is about twice as bad as terrorism.
That meets the definition of intentional killing of American citizens, so you cant really have any excuse there.
Do you think the significance of terrorism is being overblown?
If so, what problem should we be confronting, instead?

We have another topic entitled
Thinking about Terrorism, Why do we fear terrorism the most? where these points can be discussed.
