I've posted all of two times so far (and so far appear quite apt at killing threads), and thought I'd just give a brief rundown of who I am so you might better know where I'm coming from.

I'm a twenty-four year old second year university student at Queen's University, in Kingston Ontario. I'm a Canadian - American - French citizen. I was born in Canada (Richmond Hill to be precise), lived there for 6 years, moved to the USA for 11 years, moved to France at 17, took a job there for 5 years. I lived in Corsica for four of those years, spent some time in Africa as well.

I then used the income I earned in France to pay rent and tuition. Thank goodness the Euro is strong! I currently am studying the sciences, and hope to go to medical school in the future, although I've been told my age could be an issue, seeing as I'd be nearer forty then thirty by the time residency and specialization would be complete.

Politically I'm closer to a socialist on economic issues than I am the democratic party (socialist healthcare, expanded funding to reduce tuition and the like), less of a hippie then the greens, and libertarian on social issue (less gun legislation, some drug legalization, pro-choice).

I also like long sentences and improper comma usage, as you can tell. Writing is not my forte. I often half finish a post, then realize I have no idea where I'm going with that mixed metaphor.

And on a final note I must say this is a hard place to get into, seeing as the posts are so bloody long that every point is covered by the third post (not a criticism though). I think I have a valid point, I scroll down, and see poster number three has already covered it (in paragraph three no less) in a much more literate manner then I could every muster.

I also tend to be overly verbose at times. I can't help it, I like talking about myself. biggrin.gif

I'm curious how you can have three citizenships...does simply living in France convey citizenship? And were your parents travelling in Canada at the time of your birth or living there?

As in the armed services?

I thought that nullified citizenship in the US...(not entirely sure about that, though).

Service in the Foreign Legion is often exempt (like serving with the IDF).

Althought to be honest I rarely travel on an American passport, and the tax thing is decrmental, so I'm considering renoucing it.

And if so, does that mean I can't debate here anymore?
