Hey, I just had to jump in this forum to let everyone know that the environment is definitely getting better -- in Pittsburgh at least!

Pittsburgh ranks 17th in the world for cleanest cities!

If you consider that the pollution in Pittsburgh used to be so bad that it actually did get dark before lunchtime, this is an amazing thing.

Granted, we don't have the same industry but I assure you that it wasn't getting dark before lunchtime even before the steel industry collapsed. I never saw those days and I'm 39 years old.

I just thought it would help to remind everyone just how bad pollution really used to be. I dont' think we should every stop trying but it's important to recognize successes too.

It is good to be reminded we are doing some things right! We need to keep pursuing policies which work and try new ones where they have not worked.
