I have a new theory on why globalization is good for the US. Now this theory supercedes the theory that says:
a) Globalization will make countries like China richer so they can afford our products

Make the cost of living more affordale for us by having the cheapest possible manufacturing without tariffs
My theory goes like this:
Globalization is good because it will make countries like China richer so they will become consumers of THEIR own cheap goods and hence no longer care about our market to which we can then sell stuff to ourselves!
So the ultimate goal of globalization is to get the cheap manufacturers in the the 3rd worlds to look to a new market!!
Obviously I'm joking.
Here's my question:
Do you believe that globalization is a good thing?
Do you think globalization is helping or hurting employment in the USA or wealthy nations?
Do you think the economists that brag about globalization were wrong and it's really hurting now?
Is China playing fairly? Simply saying "globalization is good" assumes what? If one partner is not behaving well, is globalization still good?
