When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about the I Spy children's valentines that were discovered to have terrorist propaganda in the pictures on the valentines. They have been pulled off the shelves of Target Stores and the FBI is investigating. It was on CCN this morning.

I've looked everywhere on the net for it and it's not here yet. I saw it on CNN Headline news this morning.

A family bought a package of I Spy children's valentines at a Target Store. The parents noticed that in one of the pictures, there was a heart that said "You will be mine" with a little drawing of a clock and lines that can be depicting an explosion. Jihad appears elsewhere in the same picture. The picture is like a collage of things laying together. Like an I Spy picture book. They took the valentine back to Target and all the I Spy valentines have been pulled from the shelves and the FBI is investigating.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

NOTE: This topic was split from another Valentine topic since, as you can see, it was off the subject from the start.

Sorry, Mike.

Me too. But at least you can post the story here if anyone finds it. smile.gif

No problem...! smile.gif

Oh, and I did look for about 30 minutes, and couldn't find it.

Eventually, it'll turn up in the Query Server (see the "Newspage" link at the top of this page).

Is there a conspiracy (or an ongoing government investigation) that has turned this into a dead end for us investigative surfers?

I have no idea. I don't know how long it takes for a news story to get from headline news on TV to the internet sites. I actually wondered the same thing because I watched CNN again this afternoon and this evening and there wasn't another mention of it. Usually, CNN runs stories continuously all day long -- same news over and over unless there are new developments.

It will be interesting to see if our local news stations pick it up on the evening news tonight. I checked the BBC to see if they had the story since they aren't American media. Nothing yet.

I really don't see why an ongoing government investigation would "hold" the story. The story actually showed the cards -- it was real.

This has now gotten me VERY interested now that we can't find any information. There's no way that the story could simply disappear! Or is there?

I'm not nuts! I saw it! The name of the company that manufactured the cards is Scholastic Publishing or Scholastic something. For the life of me, I can't remember the location of country the family bought the cards but the report said that ALL Target stores pulled them from the shelves. I wondered if this was just a Target product.

I personally am a little worried about the fact that February 14th is just a few days away, we're on high alert and being told that we need to buy duct tape and plastic to prepare for making our houses airtight in case of an emergency. They are saying to have three days of food on hand because the ratio of emergency personelle to the population means that we're on our own during the first three days of a disaster. If they are "hiding" this story, it's a diservice to us -- an understatement. I'm not saying that we need to panic but we do have a right to know

Good surfing Mike!

This is what I've found out so far. My husband heard about it early this morning on a local radio show. He said that the father that bought the valentine was interviewed on the show. (I don't know if it was an arranged interview or if the father merely called into the show.)

The local show is called Quinn in the Morning. He used to be a rock DJ until he was sued for sexual harrasement. He's recreated himself as a conspiracy theory personality. The show has a very strong conservative slant. It's actually interesting at times when I can stand it. Here's a link to the show's website. It appears as if you can listen to all the archived shows. I didn't try it because it's late and I don't want to wake up my family.

What I find interesting is that the father seems to be desperately trying to get this message out to the media. It appeared as if he was interviewed in his home on the CNN clip I saw this morning. And now my husband says that he contacted the Quinn show himself. I also am a little disturbed that the story disapeared thoughout the day on CNN. (Is Quinn brainwashing me or what?) LOL

My husband said that the FBI was at his house within an hour of his calling the local police. He apparently went with the FBI to the Target store and showed them where he purchased the card. The FBI photographed the store and the display. He said that they confiscated the valentine boxes (I believe he meant the FBI, not the store). Then the FBI went into the manager's office without the father. When they returned they told the father he could go home. Remember, this is all hearsay from my husband listening to the show. Try to see if you can actually listen to the show at the link above. (I included this detail if the link doesnt' work or if someone can't play the archives.)

You really need to see the actual valentine. They showed it on CNN. I'll try to describe it in detail. At the bottom of the valentine there is a cut out heart like made from a child. The words in the heart are "You will be mine." Notice it doesn't say "Will you be mine." There's all sorts of hand made valentines crafts in the picture along with books. It's a picture collage. The only "names" that appear on the card are Jihad and Lily.

I did a search a google search on the internet "Lily religious symbol" and the first site listed had the wording "The lily is the symbol of purity, virtue, and humility, and is the emblem of the Virgin Mary. It is often associated with the Resurrection......." I decided that I didn't need to research the meaning of the world Lily any further. Here's the link to that site.

I find it interesting that no one has made the comparison to the meaning Lily. They describe the meaning of Jihad but seem to fail to recognize the relevence of Lily.

I remember when I saw the CNN clip wondering if the company Scholastic is the same company that we buy fundraiser books for the public schools. You know the thin papers that come home every month so the kids can buy books from the book club. My husband said there was a comparison to the company on the radio show.

Hopefully there is a picture of the valentine in the morning newspaper and I'll see what I can do about getting it posted on here.
