We are now in the middle of another campaign to paint Iran as a terrorist state whose nuclear ambitions make those of us in the west unsafe. Allegations are made, stretching allegations mind you. And the villified deny the scenario drummed up in the west. This is all sadly reminiscent to the lies being presented before the illegal US Iraq invasion. This is an example of what I am saying:
The following article is in relation to Cheney's assertion that Iran and its nukes are a threat to the world.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060207/pl_nm/..._iran_cheney_dc"Cheney says Iran nuclear situation "dangerous""The following article is in relation to Cheney's pre illegal Iraq war assertion that Iraq and its nukes are a threat to the world.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2002-09...aq-cheney_x.htmCheney: Iraq pursuing nuclear weaponsThe following link is a supplementary reading concerning high echelon intelligence experts and their batting average being as low as a snake's would be i.e. they were completely wrong in the assertions.
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/world/i...aq-nuclear.htmlThe question I am posing is this:
Since all the allegations made against Iraq concerning their terror and nuclear ambitions and weapons programs have turned out to be completely wrong, do you think it wise for the US to react in the exact same way when told the exact same lies about Iran? While in thought, keep in mind the human cost of the US Iraqi mistake*, namely US servicemen's lives. And one more thing to think about:
Do you think any one single American G.I's life is worth any one of the lives of a people decimated by US-led sanctions for a murderous** decade?* I don't believe it was a mistake at all. It was planned as soon as Bush took office in 2000.
**I say murderous due to Madelene Albright's policy comment.
