We're going to go ahead and create a topic for each radio show so that everyone can discuss/predict/review each show. smile.gif

This topic is for discussing the Feb 22, 2006 AD Radio show.

So, what do you think will be the topic tonight?

How about the comedy bit?

Who will call?

I'll talk to you guys tonight!  w00t.gif

Well, I thought I might as well put up the thread for tonight's (March 1, 2006) ad.gif Radio show, plus chat.

So, what do you think will be the topic tonight?

How about the comedy bit?

Who will call?

Who will be in the chat room?

I've got a good lead on what the comedy bit might be.... ph34r.gif

I hope everyone has a chance to listen because one of our forum members will be making his/her debut on the comedy scene. Well, I am assuming this is a debut. I'm sure I'll be corrected if it's not. laugh.gif

I have no idea what we'll be talking about this week. News has been sort of slow so I look forward to see where the callers lead us.

Talk to you later! smile.gif

Hearing your recorded voice is always a shock. It just sounds different inside your head due to "internal" hearing that comes from your voice being filtered through your head. Your voice resonates in your mouth and throat in a way that you don't hear when you listen to a recording. That's why it sounds different.

Most people think they sound worse when they hear a recording of themselves. I think that's because it is different and most people equate different with bad.

I thought you had a nice enough voice.

I got to admit it is a little unnerving but I think it just takes getting used to. You really sound young AMLord. At least not your age anyway. Maybe a career in pop music is your cards? tongue.gif N'Synch Maybe? Just kidding!
Amlord
I'm the youngest 33 year old I know!!

For what it's worth, I've been told I look younger than I sound. blink.gif

It's taken me a while to get used to listening to my own voice. At first, I was convinced there was something wrong with the recording...heh.

But, after hearing it for a while, I'm getting more comfortable with listening to myself talk. I don't have a "radio voice," though, but that's ok. whistling.gif

Greetings everyone!
I have listened to three of the shows as a podcast, and I have detected much improvement! Cheers to your courage and dedication! I am looking forward to the next broadcast.
I am a "irregular route truck driver" according to the IRS classifications, and I am posting this from Cheyenne Wyoming. You can count me as one of the "350" listeners. I am telling others about it- you should too!
I hope to spend some time participating in the forums soon.
Cheers!
Jaime
Great to meet you BornInZion! Thanks for the kind words about the shows.

My criticism/idea of the week-
I need to work on reducing 'umm' and 'absolutely' from my vocabulary. After reviewing some of the shows, I realize I say those words far too often. Maybe Mike should get a buzzer and hit it everytime I screw up...ok, that would get really distracting. laugh.gif

From what I know, he just might do it once or twice.

Just listened to the archive. This episode seemed to be very laid-back and mellow, which is an interesting change of pace. I notice there were a lot fewer callers than usual. (Of course, there are certain people who have turned out to be "regulars.")

As usual, keep up the good work. thumbsup.gif

I was curious, Mike, Jaime, what will be the topic of discussion for Mar. 8?

Will be it open ended or will it be narrowed down to a particular issue?

Every show so far has been open-ended by design.

I do not believe there are any plans to change that format (although topic-related shows have not been ruled out).

By the way trouble, I liked your monkey avatar. Bring back the monkey!!
