(Not that I would have had much insight into the question about the Volunteer State's tax on illegal drugs. I suspect that it is just part of the same mentality that thinks it is a good idea to seize the assets of suspected drug law violators.)

As far as the motto of the city of Savannah goes, I kind of like "Founded 1733." Simple, to the point, and points out the uniqueness of the city's age. It beats the one that Chattanooga came up with some time ago: "Chattanoooga Shines!" That one strikes me as just weird.
