Tony Snow to be named Press Secratary, according to
MSNBC. As the article states
QUOTE
Snow, a Fox News commentator and speech-writer in the White House under Bush’s father, has written and spoken frequently about the current president — not always in a complimentary way.
I've always felt Snow to be one of the more objective conservative pundits. I've also generally found him fairly eloquent and unflappable. I would think he could make a fine press secretary. I'm a little surprised he took the job, though...while press secretary is a prominent position within any administration, I would think the restrictions might be rather stifling for someone who used to be a political commentator. Maybe Snow is more politically motivated than I might have thought...as the article states:
QUOTE
He served in the administration of President George H.W. Bush as White House speechwriting director and later as a deputy assistant to the president for media affairs.
So, the questions for debate are:
1. Is Tony Snow a good choice for press secretary?
2. Does press secretary hold any sway at all in policy (ie...does it really matter)?
