I just listened to this episode. Quite lively, with a lot of discussion of a lot of issues.
I wanted to address the issue of whether any nation has ever been evicted from the United Nations. According to the UN, this has never happened.

No country has ever left the UN or has been expelled from the UN
The obvious question that comes up next is "What about Taiwan?" Well, there never was a nation called "Taiwan" in the UN. What happened is that the UN voted to recognize the "mainland" government of China as the "real" government of China instead of the "Taiwan" government.

Resolution on Restoring the Rights of the PRC, 25 October, 1971
The General Assembly,
Recalling the Principles of the Charter of the United Nations,
Considering that the restoration of the lawful rights of the People's Republic of China is essential both for the protection of the Charter of the United Nations and for the cause that the United Nations must serve under the Charter,
Recognizing that the representatives of the Government of the People's Republic of China are the only lawful representatives of China to the United Nations and that the People's Republic of China is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council,
Decides to restore all its rights to the People's Republic of China and to recognize the representatives of its government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations, and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations related to it.

I support the effort to make Taiwan a full and equal member of the UN; a goal which has always been vetoed by China. However, Taiwan was never expelled from the UN; the Nationalist government of China (which ruled only Taiwan) was replaced by the Communist government of China (which ruled the mainland.)
