If we can bend the rules slightly, I would like to nominate the man and wife team Curmudgeon and Paladin Elspeth.

These seem like two down to earth people with extraordinary intelligence. From their firm but gentle posts we know they have faced the “trials of Job” with illnesses and financial hardship, but they keep trying and posting well thought-out contributions to this page.

I would love to sip Irish coffee with Mr. and Mrs. Mudge.

Because I could really use a vacation, the member I most want to meet is Julian.

And if he can introduce me to Nigella Lawson or Sade, I'd be his best friend for life!

ConservPat. I never realized that he was a year younger than me. I always thought he was much older due to his maturity and debate ability. I'm sure we'd get along great.

Lederuvdapac for basically the same reasons [there was a chance of me going to American U by the way]. We're very similar, around the same age and I can forgive him for being a New Yorker.

And we would probably love to tell you of the time that PE tried to introduce me to Irish Coffee. She took me to Murphy's Bar on St. Patrick's day... The bartender didn't know how to make Irish Coffee! PE will likely correct me, but I'm not a heavy drinker, and 18 years later... I think my total exposure to "Irish Coffee" is from the Cappucino machine at the 7 - 11.

Getting back on topic, we've had the privilege of meeting a few of the members of AD; but when I need to reach out in the night and ask for some quiet advice, Mrs. Pigpen has always had a calm, reassuring reply. I would love the chance to thank her in person someday. (And as long as we're at war, she and her husband remain in our prayers.)

My problem at this point is that I've met too many members (at last count, I think it was twelve - though I'd known two of them previously). While I'm tempted to go with nighttimer again or doclotus - or one of the staffers that I haven't met yet - I think I'll nominate Renger. Meeting him would mean a trip to Amsterdam - and it's high time I met one of our non-Americans.

I'm going for a straight-up-fun factor this year and nominate droop224. If our radio show conversations are any indication, meeting droop in real life would be a riot.

I will say Nighttimer because I have read many of his posts and he seems like he would
be a very interesting and animated conversationalist. (Last year I voted for P.E. and I still
would like to meet her.)
