If you've never seen Mike Reed's Flame Warriors, it is definitely worth a look. Basically, it's a listing with descriptions/illustrations of a variety of typical discussion board participants. I guarantee that you will laugh out loud when you recognize some of them (and probably cringe a few times when you see yourself nailed). If you choose the option to view them in the succession they were created, you won't miss any.

If you take a look, it might be interesting to post which type(s) you feel most apply to you. In order to prevent a flame war from breaking out here, it's probably best to stick to self-identification as opposed to comments like "Oh, my God! Jaime is exactly like..."

I like to think of myself as a combination of Philosopher and Boy Scout;
but I'm probably perceived as a combination of Weenie and Jerk.
In reality, I probably am a combination of Tireless Rebutter and Ideologue - with dashes of Ego, Nanny, and Bong.

On this board I guess Issues but where the topics aren't as serious and the moderation not as heavy I can definitley see some Ego and Big Dog aspects in myself.

My goal is to be Kung Fu Master. Was called a combination of Ego and Jerk on another site. I believe I was looked upon as Godzilla at the Smirking Chimp.

it kind of depends. on most forums, I lurk, and post only when I feel I have something relevant to add. here, I see my self as a mix of a little of rotty pup, and Ferrous Cranus. in live debates and arguments I am definitely Ferrous Cranus, and do NOT budge from my position.

I was greatly entertained by Flame Warriors and saw myself in more than one of the characters illustrated at the site.

Tonight I came across the woo-woo credo and it's likely as worthy of a read as Flame Warriors has proved.
