BoF
Things have been a bit rough on the board lately, so I’m starting a new “stroking” thread with a new twist. In the past, the person who posts next must say nice about the last poster. To avoid the appearance of this being “self-serving” I want to open it up wide. The next person can say something nice about anyone, they want. Don’t just sit there, say something nice about someone, anyone.

I’ll start the thread by complimenting two of our younger members. I don’t always agree with them. At times I’ve given both a hard time, but as a former teacher I appreciate young people who take an extra step to learn and grow.

The first is leder. He is 18 and will be eligible to vote for the first time in November. If I lived in New York or leder lived in Texas we probably would not vote for the same candidates, but I am certain leder’s will be an informed vote.

The other person is VDemonsthenes. He will be 16 in November. He’ll have to wait two years before he eligible to vote. I don’t advocate dropping the voting age below eighteen, but I do think VD’s vote, if he were eligible, would be more informed than some people who can vote.

As an existentialist, I can only imagine the heights these two might reach.

Ok. I’ve had my say. Someone else say something nice about someone, again anyone.

Excellent topic to resurrect BoF! thumbsup.gif

I think that although BoF and I have had our scuffles in the past, that he has always carried himself in a respectable manner in debate and is one of the more level headed members on these boards. To my knowledge, he has never posted in a topic that he hasn't either researched or have substantial knowledge of which makes sure his arguments are always taken seriously. An exemplary member of ad.gif !

Oh right, the twist. I also want to say something nice about lordhelmet who is usually involved in very heated debates with other members on these boards. We have had our disagreements in recent debates and although some of our positions contradict at times, the one thing that is unquestionable is his passion for his beliefs. That kind of passion is hard to find in this day and age and its good to see in my opinion. We just have to work on a few of those viewpoints tongue.gif
