Hi, I'm an independent in New York (female), 45 years old, been (very) active in independent politics since before there was such a thing smile.gif - Recently, I've been involved in creating a new website (www.independentvoting.org) and fighing in the Independence Party where our chair, Frank McKay thinks that everyone's supposed to fold up and go home just because he decides to make some deals with the Dems and Repubs and call for the expulsion of 150 grassroots activists who've knocked door-to-door for 12 years to build the party. Ironically, even though I'm a member of a "party," I hate parties and even though I've been involved in politics for 27 years, I hate the way traditional politics is done - go figure! Anyway, that's my introduction! Looking forward to talking with folks. - Gwen

well we're here.
The Indie forum doesn't get much use unfortunately. Although when I open a thread I try to add who I hope will respond, centrists, greens, libertarians, etc....
just to get it open wide enough for it to get responses. Although general is a good forum area for most questions.
Never have been a member of a Party, I prefer to vote by candidate and by issue when possible.

Lots of good debaters here and this forum is run very professionally--but is mostly fun.

What keeps you from joining either party? I read a little on the Ind party in NY and a little about McKay and Fulani. Your opening shows unhappiness with mckay, what went wrong in NY?

Have you been watching AD for awhile or did you sign up when you found it?

Finally how is the weather back east?
