Its odd, but I've never thought of the global society as being anything but multi cultural and I don't understand why this phrase has suddenly become a political slogan it has. It seems common sense that the world is multi cultural and is only thus because each culture remains its own.
When I look at what has happened in Denmark and Europe, I see the sudden growth of ideologies that will destroy 'multi culture' and replace it with mono culture, whether this be through American style capitalism, Islam or the EU, its all one and the same thing. Our small nation is rapidly becoming a mere district of a world we have no influence over what so ever. Nothing new about that I suppose but it grows tiresome nonetheless.
And frankly, of the various threats to our democracy we face, I see Islam, borne by mass immigration into Europe to be the most annoying (and irrational) and dangerous. First of all because we have no where else to go if our democracy falls. The migration pattern is a one way street.
Second, because for all the talk of minority rights, the fact is all of Europe is the minority, and a fat, weak one at that. Ripe for plunder and unable to defend itself against a Muslim population which out numbers us four to one, has a birth rate four times higher than ours and is expanding in our direction and at our expense.
Third, because I do not believe in this utterly ridiculous and irrational religion and I utterly resent both its aggressive intrusion into my life and the fact that just by stating this I am actually taking the risk, however small, of being attacked, and possibly even killed, by a offended religious fanatic in my own country.
Because of the electronical revolution, we can talk and write to eachother in a million ways already, all over the globe, this is what makes the difference, which in turn can create a global cummunity. When we talk together, we create reality. This is why dialogue is so essential.
