Ann Coulter said the Democrats where treasonous for not clapping for an expensive useless ballistic missile defense. People have said protestors are treasonous for not supporting a war in Iraq. What is treason now?

I think calling protesters traitors for not supporting an Iraq war is a little crazy because, in a democracy, people have the right to like or dislike what a President is doing in the way of Foreign or Domestic policy

If people don't like Bush's policy on, say, which Bush says abortion is fine (i have no idea on his stance on this issue, so i m just using an example), then that is their right to say "abortion is murder & should be illegal"

If they don't like Bush's stance on Iraq, then they can say that Bush should not go to war with Iraq because it is wrong & that Iraq has done nothing to deserve a war or they can say that Iraq has violated too many resolutions & the United States needs to act, than that is their right as well.

Yes, yes, good old Ann! She sure is a work of art, isn't she? Cashing in on the political hack circuit, I bet she secretly lusts after George Stephanopolus.

The term "treason" is a mighty big one. Ann had better watch her back for libel/slander suits.

She also needs to watch out for losing any shred of credibility left. I feel sorry for the poor woman and her acid tongue. When this whole Iraq thing is over and done, people will move on. She'll have lost her audience.

But anyway, "treason" is defined in the Constitution of the US. What a failing opinion writer says about it does not change the definition in any form.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against
