The easiest way (if you're computer illiterate) is to just send me the link to the image.

I can resize it and then send you a link. smile.gif

I can help

1. Find the pic you want
2. right click on it & click on "Properties"
3. highlight the Address/URL that you see on "Properties"
4. right click on the highlighted part & select "Copy"
5. On "My Controls", go down to the part in Avater settings marked "Your image Avatars"
6. put the text cursor (the blinking thing) & on your keyboard, hit "Ctrl + V" (hold down CTRL while pressing "V")

Note: Make sure there is a black dot in the circle marked "Your Image Avatars"

Though, unless the image you're copying is 64 x 64, you could either be eating up more server space than necessary or creating a bit of ugly pixilated dithering your avatar (or both). If the source image is a different size, I'd go with Mike's advice - send it to him!
Mike
Avatar uploads are limited to 20K, and will automatically be shrunk down to 64x64 by your browser.

That means that if you put up a 500x500 pixel image, the server stores it as 500x500. Users download it full sized, and then their browser makes it look smaller.

Out of consideration for those with dial-up, please try to limit the avatar size to as small as possible.

If you use an image from another website and don't upload it, the person viewing the page still has to download the full image. So, for example, if you use a 200K image for your avatar, it could take about 40 seconds to load for someone with a dial-up account. In this case, I'd recommend you just send me an email so I can resize it and send it back. I'm really fast about this... just ask around! cool.gif

Yes.
