I get it, The Founders Intent. You wanted to blog against John Kerry in this thread. Congratulations; you succeeded. The Swift Boaters got what they wanted out of their character assassination, and we have them (among others) to thank for having Fearless Leader Dubya at the helm until 2009.

So how about picking a few questions posted at the beginning of this thread and attempting to answer them? thumbsup.gif

Questions such as these:

After seeing the video, do you believe Senator Kerry meant to refer to George Bush?

Or, was he refering to our troops as uneducated?

As for his response, given that the country is largely against the Iraq War, will this tough talk help Democratic candidates in next week's elections?

Bonus - Bush and Kerry both had mediocre grades at Yale. Discuss.

I'm going to answer this one posed by Fife and Drum:

Considering the “flap” over Kerry’s swift boat service and his comments that he's considering running for president again, was this a wise statement?

This is certainly not the best climate for John Kerry to be considering another run for the presidency. Regardless of his failed attempt at a joke and the fallout from it, this country is too polarized at the moment to think that Kerry would be anything but a target for the folks on the "right" side of the aisle, as amply evidenced by the posts in this thread.

And no, it wasn't wise. But that is the nature of a misstatement.

John F Kerry is a politician, first and foremost. He was a politician before he went to Vietnam, he only went to Vietnam to enhance his political career?

Do you have any credible evidence to back up your being able to divine why Kerry went into the military?

QUOTE
How long was he there? How long was he there??? Four months wasn't it? That's not a tour of a normal soldier. He got three purple hearts (in four months??) and even wrote himself up for them. I spoke with veterans this week about Kerry.

That was four months longer than Bush served. rolleyes.gif

QUOTE
He gets no respect from them. These veterans told me that no unit ever went against a fellow officer like the Swift Boaters did, because he was a lamer over there and it was obvious to everyone why he was there.

How many veterans did you talk to this week? Was your random sample large enough to yield anything significant? Did any of them actually serve with Kerry?

QUOTE
This just doesn't happen, but only because he was there for himself.

Again, how do you know why he was there?

QUOTE
You liberals picked the lamest gigolo for your veteran hero, and he's going to remain a millstone around your necks so long as you elect him.

What liberals are you addressing? Those of us on the board? If there weren't liberals here, who would you debate with? Nice job of opening old wounds from the 2004 election.

QUOTE
I pray to God that you do too.

Do what? Are you praying for a pox on your fellow members' houses?

QUOTE
Oh, and keep Nancy Pelosi too cause [sic] we love her.

Please explain how Nancy Pelosi is relevant to this thread.

John Kerry got around 49 percent of the vote in 2004, as far as I remember. Not that bad for a "lame gigolo" and a "millstone" against an incumbent wartime president. The anecdotal evidence that you present goes in direct contradiction with anecdotal evidence available to me, where Kerry gets plenty of respect from veterans. So your "evidence" worth as much as mine... nothing.
But my question to you was very simple... which exactly part of Kerry's statement (about nighttime raids) you dispute? You answer was anything but an answer to my question.

By the way, we love Nancy, too smile.gif Isn't she awesome?
