About what? The site? The link to the "awesome explanation" doesn't work. What are you asking us to comment on specifically?

I think each individual is entitled to their own views. I also think you might be one of those people who walk from door to door, trying to get me to go to your church, and attempting to persuade me that the only way to save my immortal soul is to believe what you believe.
Fortunately, I have a mind, and a soul of my own. I go to a church of my own, and hold my own beliefs rather than become "lemming like" and follow the lead of the brainwashed masses over the edge.
I believe God will be more appreciative of a person who has a true "individual relationship", and am taking charge of my own soul, rather than following what others tell me and betting my soul they're right.
If you've found something that makes you warm and fuzzy, that's great. I'm glad you have. But, creating a post with no dialogue reeks of an "pushing an agenda". Usually, people who push an agenda are blind to it's flaws. There is nothing more fun than opening someone's eyes so they may see the cliff.

Now that I've told you what I think, (as per your request), let me know what you think about what I think.
(Caution: I have a keen sixth sense that can eerily detect regurgitated ideas and rhetoric. Thoughts and speech that is not original and is identified as brainwashed drivel will be immediately identified and totally ignored). tongue.gif

Actually the reason i posted this is because I have been working on "The Revolution" since January. The site I put up through Geocities sucks ( www.geocities.com/thechristianrevolution ). I happened to talk to a kid (hes like 15) who knows a lot about web page design and he made this new site. A lot of people from AD checked out the old one, and gave me suggestions, my whole goal in posting this was for them (and others) to give me some feedback so me and Andrew can make changes, fix broken links, and start on the actual meat of the site.

Now as far as "church". I am in a campus ministry group here at OU. Its not affiliated with any church, in fact, we are sort of against what Americans call a church. The "church" today in America is to divided. There is competition between different denominations for members and support. I don't think God or Jesus would want this. He does not want different parts of the church competing. He would want unity. I also do not think of Christianity as a religion. To me its a relationship. Even though I worship and hang out with other Christians through this campus ministry, I do not let them tell me what I should believe. I go straight to the Word of God for that. I hope this clarifies any questions or concerns

Brian,

Getcherself an editor--ask someone with an English major to review text.

All writers need editors. This is not meant as a put-down.

Yeah, I've noticed the independent Christian movement. One of Lydia's kids, maybe around your age, is an independent believer. We have lots of interesting conversations as she follows her chosen path.

I'm in agreement that organized churches do more to inhibit spiritual growth than to help folks achieve what might be called "enlightenment," but that carries too many connotations of Buddhism. Language gets pretty awkward when trying to describe spirituality due to the deeply entrenched, conventional Christian influence on English.

In any case, carry on and good luck with your website and all endeavors!

Brian,
Thank you for clarifying. This would have been useful had you done so to begin with. Since this site is called "America's Debate", I was meerly searching for something to debate.
For future reference, The admin around here is borderline "Orwellian" when it comes to following the rules. Break them, and all traces of your existence will be removed. (no offense Mike & Jamie! Just shining you on!) Please don't ban me! OH PLEEEEEEEZE! w00t.gif
They will usually say something if you do not pose a question to debate, spout one line remarks, stray off topic, rant, blog, curse, type illegibly, say anything about horses, type in all caps, were born in Idaho, like cheese, have a first name that begins with the letter Q, etc. etc. w00t.gif
Although, I'm not sure how it works in the Casual Conversation forum. Since it is for "everything else" Do you have to have a point? MAYBE IT'S ALRIGHT TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS IN THIS FORU.........................

Nice. You call us Orwellian and in the same breath admit you don't know how the Casual Conversation forum works. rolleyes.gif

I know you were trying to be humorous but I guess I've heard this "joke" too many times now. I'm numb. ermm.gif tongue.gif

Brian - I looked at your site. Great idea using Invision Board. They are the best. A little skinning could help, but I've always been biased against that baby powder blue.

Last I checked you had over thirty members - sounds like you're off to a good start. Good luck! smile.gif

What's wrong with connotations of Buddhism? I think I might have to show you some Buddhism... some left hook Buddhism, punk! biggrin.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif

Brian, as for the site:

1. The "links" button and the "email" button are cross-wired.

2. The link for the "explanation" does not work.

3. Other than that, nice job. Site looks fine, forum looks right on. Keep it up, brother!
