I received a nifty e-mail today and was mildly shocked. Here is an excerpt:

"Saudi Arabians are now boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. Just buy from gas companies that do not import oil from the Saudis. Here are some large corporations that do not import Saudi Arabian oil.

Citgo...............0 barrels
Sunoco............0 barrels
Conoco............0 barrels
Sinclair.............0 barrels
BP/Phillips........0 barrels
Hess................0 barrels

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I am sending money to people that want to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting to know which companies import middle eastern oil. (For the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):

Shell.........................205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.......144,332,000 barrels
Exxon/Mobil..............130,082,000 barrles
Marathon/Speedway.117,740,000 barrels
Amoco......................62,231,000 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy. Each company is required to state where they get their oil, and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car. Share it with friends. Stop paying for terorism."

I have tryed to confirm this information through the Dept. of Energy's web site, but was unable to do so. Could someone please help with the corroboration?
I really don't like to be a rumor spreader, but if this info checks out, you can bet I'll tell everyone I know.

Thanks,
