A hypothetical scenario, if you will.
Through a complex and unlikely series of events, the Organization of Bearded Nutters, working through its affiliates, Hezbollah, Hamas, Fatah, the PLO, Syria, and the rest of the usual suspects, have caught the Israeli military flat footed and are on the brink of realizing their longtime wet dream, pushing Israel into the sea. Videos of massacres of Israeli citizens are already up on the web.
An American carrier group is near, as is a Marine Expeditionary Group returning peacekeeping the latest foolishness in Africa, plus of course there are 100k+ American troops in Iraq.
The Israeli Ambassador calls on the President, asking for immediate help. Congress is waffling, the President basically has the call.
The question for debate is:
1) You're the President, what would you do?

BK - Sorry but the scenario can not play out. Israel has a reserve force of over one million trained men and women. They keep their weapons at home and outside of every Israeli city is 5 to 7 military bases with the equipment to field an infantry and an armored division. Mobilization time for 250,000 troops 3 hours, 1,000,000 24 hours.
The only thing the US could do is wring their hands as Syria, Lebanon and Gaza disappear off the map. A hundred thousand Americans 3 weeks away could and would do absolutely nothing.
