For the first time today I saw FOXNEWS comletely mess up reporting. Right after the vote took place in turkey they were all but too happy to tell us that they voted for it to be passed. It did get a majority vote but didn't get the amount of votes needed to be passed. Granted 10 minutes later they corrected themselves, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see FOX mess up a story for the first time.

I know there have been threads on "what constitutes a reputable source?" and "Taking time in reporting a story" But I've never seen this happen.

so I guess the thread is asking How often have you seen this happen and in what context?

I saw it happen once on the channel on TV & on the website for the same thing:

At first, they reported it to be the THINK group, then they changed their minds & said it was Libenski

I saw that also on FoxNews, but CNN ran the same story and had to recant. I have a feeling the source was AP or Reuters who were covering the vote.

Didn't Fox News declare Gore the winner of Florida back in 2000? I'd swear I remember them doing that.

But you are correct. Then it was Fox News (well, actually Bush's cousin for Fox News) that declared Bush the winner, which the rest of the media followed. Then (after everyone else), they had to move Florida back into the undecided category. So they got that one wrong twice.

I thought it was Voter News Service, not Fox that first made the Florida announcement?
