So I've been doing some reading recently and I read Michael Moore's newest book "Stupid White Men". He brings up alot of good points and the one that sticks with me the most is that "There really is no difference between Dems and Reps anymore"...IF you've read the book or if you just feel like posting I'd like to hear what other Democrats have to say (even though i find it hard to call myself a democrat anymore)

OK, I'm not a Democrat, and I didn't read that book, but I do want to briefly put in my two cents.

I agree that Dems and Reps are practically the same. One wants big government, and the other wants bigger government.

That's why I'm a conservative.

Ok, so I'm not a Democrat either. This post intrigues me, however.

While I've generally held most of Michael Moore's work as socialist garbage, I do recognize that there is little difference between Republicans and Democrats. I used to consider myself to be more conservative and therefore, I voted Republican. When I lived in Illinois, I voted for George Ryan for governor and he raised taxes on me. I voted for Bush and he wants to create larger government with his Homeland Security department *** NOTICE: THIS WORD IS AGAINST THE RULES. FAILURE TO REMOVE IT WILL RESULT IN A STRIKE. ***. Republicans want government as big as Democrats, just in different areas.

I've come to realize that I'm mostly libertarian. The government is not smarter than me. They can not spend my money better and they should give it back. I think if more Republicans and Democrats understood what policies the libertarians really support, there would be a lot more of us.

Lesser of 2 evils, right?

I've read most of Mr Moore's book and I feel pretty much the same way I do about all opinionated poitical activists. "I totally agreee with you here buuut this part over here makes NO sense at all." I guess I just don't know when he's kidding... if he is.

Overall I think I like what the guy has to say.

republicans WERE the same. i think during the 60s and 70s the political situation changed with vietnam and there anti war views, ever since then democrat views have had to do with politics instead of our constitution and national security like its suppose to.
