A guy named Joe- a pro motorcycle photog, myself and another dude with the same name as myself in "meat world "are going to ride, and film, our attempt to set the Iron Butt Record from Deadhorse, near Prudhoe bay, Alaska, to Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina! The currect record is 21 days, 9 hours. We think we can beat it-

We have already been signed by Light Sound productions,
Terry Burge and Kevin Kurka (Light Sounds photographer) have provided support for the Amazing Race and the Deadliest Catch as well as regular series like Larry Czonka's fishing program.


here is the kicker- we are doing it all for UNICEF- we are donating EVERYTHING we get back to the charity- INCLUDING the bikes and the chase vehicle- everything but the clothes on our back our our personal electronics- cameras and the like that these dudes make thier living with-

looks like we even have a chase helicopter from Prudhoe to the Yukon- again provided by light sound productions

Terry has won more than three Emmy's for his coverage of the Iditarod, and Kevin is nominated for "Deadliest Catch"

You see- it is winter in the Arctic when we leave- we will be running studded tires when we leave Deadhorse- we will change tires in Seattle- the studs will be thrown from the tires just from wear we figure about close to the border of Yukon to BC-

We tentatively leave Sept 15th, and will have Com3 (joe) up here sometime in June for some "team buildig" rides.

So far, Suzuki has shown the most interest in giving us the bikes, but that deal is not sealed yet- stay tuned for more- here is what I have posted on myspace, on our site there, and we will have a "real" website soon!

I LOVE Deadliest Catch! The photographers are amazing on that show. I've often wondered how they get the shots they do.

Well, more big news- the Channel 2 news hour, the #1 viewed show in Alaska- well, the Anchor dude and newsdirector/big Kahuna at the NBC affiliate, called me a few minutes ago on my cell phone, and they want to do an entire segment on us, on thier Edward R Murrow award-winning section called "Assignment Alaska"-

man, it is a bit wierd for the dude you just watched on the news last night call you on your cell phone!

I am afraid I must retract a bit of my bio on our chase vehicle camera crew- as he put me straight "I have not won any Emmys. I have been NOMINATED for 5 Emmys for the Iditarod, but never won. That may change this year but at this point I have 0. I don't know that Kevin has any nominations for Deadlies Catch, but he does have 2 or 3 nominations for the Iditarod."

I just want to make sure that we are not embellishing accomplishments here, and am severely embarrased by doing it- it was 100% my misunderstanding, no one else's fault.
