This is an important question because you only get one scoop! mrsparkle.gif

Strawberry for me, please. mrsparkle.gif

I don't really care for any of the others listed.

We have a wonderful ice cream store called Clumpie's here in Chattanooga that makes great stuff. They used to make Earl Grey flavor -- it was my favorite of all time. They stopped making it, I suppose due to lack of demand, but they still make Chai flavor, which is nearly as good.

One scoop of strawberry coming right up. Would you like it in a cup or a cone? biggrin.gif Earl Grey sounds interesting.....I must admit, I have a weakness for Chocolate Chip. blush.gif
Mike
Without a doubt, straight vanilla for me. But it has to be good vanilla with the specks of bean, not that fake stuff.

I've always wanted to make my own ice cream, though. The flavor I have in mind is vanilla with chunks of rice krispie treats, a fudge swirl, and a caramel swirl. Mmmmmm.... I bet it would be good. biggrin.gif

A cup, please. And thank you. flowers.gif

I'm not a big fan of cones. Just something to hold the ice cream in. rolleyes.gif

One scoop of Reeses on a cone for me, please. flowers.gif

I like out of the ordinary flavors, as long as they don't have nuts. I don't like nuts in my ice cream or sweets (unless they are grounded, like peanut butter (mmm) or hazelnut (like nutella, double mmm).

Do you like gelato especially, ottimista? Noticed your Italian handle (and your carnivale photo). smile.gif

I remember the first time I went to a gelato stand in Italy, and saw peach (pesca). I misread it as fish (pesce). laugh.gif

But MMMMM buonissimo!
kimpossible
Oh man, I love ice cream. Italy does it best. But when I was in France (in Nice, so right by the Italian border), they had the BEST ice cream, and one flavor (my favorite) was coquelicot, which translates into poppy (yes, like the flower). Out here in Argentina, they have some great ice cream too (perhaps because of all the Italian immigrants?), and they have a flavor here called "Alemendrado." Its basically almond flavored and its amazing. But in the US, my fave is Rocky Road or mint chocolate chip...
Bikerdad
Rocky Road, in a waffle cone. It has to be real rocky road, made with almonds and marshmallows, not marshmallow creme.

however, I consume many other types of ice cream whenever the opportunity presents, depending on my mood. Oddly enough though, one of my kids' favorites is cookie dough, and while I don't actually dislike it, I'll almost always (95% of the time) pass on it.

Just one question though, what's with this "only once scoop" tyranny? I am a two-scooper guy, always different flavors. biggrin.gif

Alas, I had to vote NOTA, because the poll didn't list mint chocolate chip. Sacrilege!
ConservPat
The correct response was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I also would have accepted the Cold Stone's Sweet Cream with chocolate chips mixed in...

You'll only get my French Vanilla or Cookies and Cream by prying it from my cold, dead hand. thumbsup.gif

Well, I know it's cruel to allow only one scoop of the greatest comfort food known to man. But for the sake of this one-choice poll I kept it to just one scoop - but it can be a BIGscoop. sorcerer.gif

I know, if this was 31 flavors, that would be on the list no doubt. I just went with the first 10 flavors I could think of. And you know, they say that too much to choose from leads to indecision and anxiety. hmmm.gif

Cookie dough and Cookies and Cream - my bad for not having 'em on the list. What was I thinking?????blush.gif

DaffyGrl
I voted Vanilla Swiss Almond, cuz there was no Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch offered (or anything with caramel-yum!). tongue.gif

Waffle cone, please!

Hey, Mike, B&J has a "flavor generator" where you can make (and name!) your own flavor.
niftydrifty
alas, I couldn't vote. the decision was just too painful. besides, quality matters, as well as variety. more information is needed. I'd take a good quality french vanilla over a plain-looking chocolate. but if it was a creamy excellent-looking dutch chocolate, I'd go for that.

Cmon, you couldn't just pick a flavor and hope for the best. What if I told you the chocolate was similar to the brand "Wells Blue Bunny"? You are from Michigan so I'm not sure if that state carries such a brand, but as a kid spending summers in S.D. I grew up on WBB. mrsparkle.gif

Cookies and cream is greatest. Chocolate Sunday is a close second though, the one from Blue Bell Ice Cream. As a matter of fact anything from Blue Bell is great.
Mike
Heh... this has gone well beyond a simple test topic for the new poll system, so I'm going to go ahead and move it into Casual Conversation. Enjoy!

A great Texas secret is out. Bluebell is now 100 years old...

http://www.bluebell.com/history.aspx

From its beginnings Brenham, Texas, it now has two other creameries - Oklahoma and Alabama and is sold in 15 states.

Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks recently said "I'm proud Blue Bell is from Texas." Ok, ok! I made that up, but you get the point. tongue.gif

Ohio(Come back to Texas) by Bowling for Soup actually mentioned Bluebell briefly. (And a lot of other feel good Texas novelties)

Mike, try the natural Vanilla bean, I think it sounds like just what your looking for. Little specs of Vanilla bean.

If I have but one scoop to choose, let it be a pint-sized dollop of Cherry Garcia. There's also the locals, Josh and John, but I haven't gotten a roundtuit so don't know the flavors. Maybe this summer . . .

Real vanilla ice cream and real root beer, the Brown Cow to some . . . root beer float to others . . . memories of scraping change together in the hot summer sun at the A&W before it joined with Kentucky Chicken-flavored Greaseballs.

BTW, Neopolitan should not be scooped but sliced. Make mine 4x8x2 inches.

For the adventurous, try a DQ pineapple shake. Or malt if you're really into strange -- but interesting. It's going to be warm today and the DQ is a hop-skip-jump away. Hmmmmm.

This is precisely what is wrong with society now-a-days! Too many choices! In my yout' we only had dirt and vanilla and we were happy to have vanilla because my parents only had dirt! I was spoiled.

Get off my lawn you over-choiced kids!

From what was on the list, I had to go with real French Vanilla (we don't have to call it Freedom Vanilla anymore, do we?), but it's a flavor I seldom actually buy (though it's the only flavor to add to most desserts, like pie a la mode). My most frequent flavor of choice over the past few years has been dulce de leche (ideally, Haagen Dasz) - and longest-standing perennial favorite has been teaberry (which I can only find in Pennsylvania). A recent discovery has been Wegman's excellent mango and coconut, which is brilliant. Wegman's, by the way, is the best supermarket in the world (and, sadly, only operates in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland).

I voted chocolate in all of its glorious manifestations. My favorites include Edy's Grand French Silk and dutch chocolate.

That having been said, I sorely miss Maple Walnut! :'(

Sometimes, when I'm in a naughty mood, I go for Denali Bear Claw, which has chocolate, caramel, chocolate chunks and cashews (hence, the "claws"). Delightful! tongue.gif

We used to make ice cream with my Dad when we were kids...vanilla was the BEST. This was before they had electric ice cream makers, so we had to grind the stuff ourselves. Nothing like a bowl of fresh ice cream after slaving away on the crank for 1/2 hours. Only thing better was throwing some fresh pieces of peach in with it! thumbsup.gif

I found the old ice cream maker in our garage when I moved to college..but no crank, and no one made the part anymore whistling.gif(. Only the memories of it now...

I went to a place by work today called Coldstone.
When you go in you can get a shake or ice cream. There are small medium amd large cups.
Or have it put in a waffle cone.
It looks like a Baskin Robbins type of Ice cream in the freezers you look into but not as many flavors.
You tell them what size you want. They have names of things you might want. I got a thing call Founders flavor.
They get the Ice cream out with two scoops but not the small size of an Ice cream scoop.
Then they put it on this cold stone. At first I think it looks like it has flour on it.
But it is a cold stone.
Founders Flavor was creamy ice cream, caramel, chocalate, brownie, and pecans.
They then with these two scoops fold and kind of mash it on this coldstone.
Because there is measuring I ordered a small, but it was too much to fit in a small and they put it in a medium. No extra charge.
This place is awesome and it was sooo good.
I can't wait to try other flavors. It is a pretty good size list of what you can combine.
yum
