Me! I found this in the Nominations thread and I was impressed I wrote such a thing. (Thanks for reminding me how wonderful I am Sleeper) whistling.gif

Your questions should not make a point. You should. Your questions should seek an honest answer.

Yeah, that was the thread I reworded the questions in... Now who's The Most Hated Member? huh, huh? That's right. Me.

I liked this one by Nighttimer:

QUOTE
"Cut and run" is not a strategy. But neither is "Stay and Pay."
Victoria Silverwolf
From Paladin Elspeth:

QUOTE
If something that we habitually do doesn't make sense or isn't working for us, why should we keep doing it?

QUOTE
Instead Bush tried to be a war president, presiding over an easy victory. And in doing so, he won the presidency, but lost the war.

...found here pretty much sums up Bush’s presidency.

QUOTE
In a shocking turn of events today, Hugo Chavez's approval rating dipped to an all-time low of 120%. The Venezuelan strongman blamed the jingoist United States for this "temporary imperialist intervention on his attempt to free the great Venezuelan people from the shackles that bind them."

QUOTE
This wouldn't be much of a debate if the question was "should anyone care at all if journalists are killed and kidnapped?" I'd say it would be pretty unanimous. This exchange going on between us here is starting to make me think of two bald men arguing over a comb, or two anorexics arguing over a cookie, or something. Did I say I think journalists should be targeted? Not even close.

May as well use the reminder thread. DR for best quote:

QUOTE(DaytonRocker @ Feb 27 2007, 09:20 PM) *
Some people are willing to believe anything because they need something to believe in.

I got a good laugh out of this one from PE:

The conservatives who are currently in power in this country are like people who stuff themselves with Doritos while proudly proclaiming themselves members of Weight Watchers. The "real" conservatives are not in power.

turnea from "Nappy Headed Ho's" (found here):
QUOTE
Its funny how we as a society have managed to place boorish behavior on a pedestal and try to validate this by repackaging civility and intelligent discourse as dreaded "political correctness".
Amen.

I've been amazed at the quality of insight expressed on ad.gif . Limiting the quote to just one was difficult. I invested more time than I care to admit trying to find a quote that would resonate with a broad range of us, but kept coming back to some of the things written most recently. This proverb from lederuvdapac tends to crystallize a sentiment I've heard expressed in some form this past year by folks across the political spectrum, whether in reference to the shifting tides in Congress, the Supreme Court, or the general conduct of government...
QUOTE
When you give government the power to do good, you give them the power to do evil. Big government is all nice and good when the policies are in your favor, but they wont be so great when policies opposite to your ideology become the focus of the government.

Author Musician commenting ont he 60s with a real nugget... I almost wonder if he made this up:

QUOTE
The proximity of mortality changes people.

True of 9/11, Iraq, Vietnam, Poverty, Katrina, war in general. Impressive.

I hate this war for sapping my once vigorous will to debate
