I had no idea that promotion of the North American Union was also contained within the White House backed Amnesty Plan. http://www.newswithviews.com/Kincaid/cliff145.htm

President Bush has done very little to secure our borders. Could this be one reason why nothing has really been done regarding the fence or border regulation etc? According to the below listed web site, Lou Dobbs has been one of the only newscasters to tell this story on CNN.

According to Howard Phillips of Conservative Caucus, this plan is favored by multi-national
corporations and we can guess why! "...... multi-national corporations want the North American Union so they can bypass the high cost of labor when they hire Americans."

George Bush even now hold his cards close to his chest. "He doesn't give a darn about preventing the entrance of more illegals into the United States or the status of illegals in this country."

What about the North American Union? If this proposal has pluses, what would they be?

Do you think the North American Union idea could be one reason why we have no border security six years after 911?

FYI:

"....one of the laughable “enforcement” provisions of the bill requires that illegal aliens caught in the U.S. be provided with individual and group counseling, recreational programs, special religious services, private toilet and shower facilities, and clothes that are not “prison-style uniforms or jumpsuits.”

Forgive me for saying so, but I'm beginning to think that Bush doesn't give a pile of fecal matter about the border anymore. I used to look up to and respect him, but I'm getting rather disgusted with his attitude of late. mad.gif

The primary reason cited for the creation of a North American Union is to serve as a viable economic foil to the European Union. Implicit in the concept is the belief that the European Union would be economically stronger than the United States by itself, and that a union of Canada, Mexico and the United States would be stronger in the world market. It just gives me the willies to think of the changes that might be required in government and the resultant changes in the law that would take place for ordinary citizens in any of the countries involved. Just who would be in charge of such a government? What rights would we lose?

It might be that the plans for a North American Union were part of what torpedoed immigration reform, considering that Lou Dobbs has a dedicated following on CNN and has been talking about this for some time.

It is also plausible that President Bush, Jr. has been soft-pedaling things with the Mexican leaders in the hopes of achieving this union. I believe this is one big reason why he has not been demonstrably firm about protecting our borders.

In any case, cargo received at our seaports is still not being inspected adequately, and any number of things that would be used in a terrorist attack may be coming in right under our noses, regardless of plans for a North American Union. I think it's accurate to say that Bush doesn't give a damn about that part of defending our country against attack. He just wants his wars.

Free trade increases the output of all parties and is generally “good” esp. since we face a large trading block in Europe – the EU.

Why do we blame Bush. The same ol Bush is responsible for everything nonsense.

Actually Bush pushed for border security and it was signed into law. Now it is the CONGRESS that is holding it up. It is the CONGRESS that is not appropriating the MONEY top build the fence and install the numerous other electronic systems required.

These fools headed by Kennedy are playing the same ol game of paying lip service and then not funding the bill. No $$$$ no fence.

so construction will proceed as quickly as possible. As the fence is erected, more funding in future budgets will be required, but I’m confident that the 71 Senators who proved themselves serious about border security today will support continued funding.

And the 27 Democrat Senators who opposed this crucial measure? Their votes serve as a reminder of the stakes of the elections this November. Democrats like Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Maria Cantwell, Robert Menendez, and Harry Reid have again proven they don’t understand what it takes to secure the homeland. They simply cannot be trusted to support real action to secure our borders and they cannot be trusted to lead.
