When you give government the power to do good, you give them the power to do evil. Big government is all nice and good when the policies are in your favor, but they wont be so great when policies opposite to your ideology become the focus of the government.

This wouldn't be much of a debate if the question was "should anyone care at all if journalists are killed and kidnapped?" I'd say it would be pretty unanimous. This exchange going on between us here is starting to make me think of two bald men arguing over a comb, or two anorexics arguing over a cookie, or something. Did I say I think journalists should be targeted? Not even close.

The conservatives who are currently in power in this country are like people who stuff themselves with Doritos while proudly proclaiming themselves members of Weight Watchers. The "real" conservatives are not in power.

Its funny how we as a society have managed to place boorish behavior on a pedestal and try to validate this by repackaging civility and intelligent discourse as dreaded "political correctness".
