Considering that the US usually will back a dicatator over a democracy- the question is pretty self explanatory- I will list the dictators we have supported- Saddam, Pinochet, Noriega, Musheref (Pakistan), Shah of Iran, various military Junta's in Guatemala, and we are actively attempting to undermine democracies such as Venezuela right now. Also- we canceled elections in Vietnam when it became apparent that Ho Chi Mingh would win by a landslide.

Considering our support of Musheref, a military strongman in Pakistan, over someone like, say, Benazir Bhutto, despite her winning of elections-

Does America really just hate for other countries to be democratic and have freely elected goverments?

If no- why do we support a dictator and power mad military generals instead of allowing poeple of thier countries to just make thier own decisions regarding who they want to lead them, right or wrong?

Edited to add: I should have put "fear" in the headline instead of "hate"- can't change it now!
