He won't change his mind
He's wanting to become a martyr, so he'll stay & fight it out. He's the type who will fight until he's taken out as man with him as possible
As for Deserters, they will start to wave the white flags when the B-52's start dropping the MOAB's (Mother of all Bombs) & daisycutters
