Link. This quiz is pretty fun, and challenging. I did fair.
Surprisingly, in certain cases I came disturbingly far from cities that I've actually visited and even lived in.
How did you all do?

Bump. Just changed the title because no one has seemed to take an interest in this topic yet.
What's wrong? Doesn't anyone else like geography as much as I do?

My main beef is how small that darn map is- I mean, I couldn't even see Greece!

Cool! A response.

Yeah, I agree the map was on the small side. I had a hard time placing the cursor on washington dc and thereabouts.

Ya, some of the cities they have asked about, I have actually been too and have detailed knowledge of- and was over 200km off!

I gotta brush up a bit... I only got to level 7 and 113 IQ points...

So for someone that has only been to four other countries other than his home country, I got to level 6 with a score of 171,233. I don't know if that is good, but it was fun. I agree the map is a little small. Can't even see most of the islands they were asking for!

I was shutdown at level six. If I was within 500 km I figured I was within the accuracy of the map.
My score was 194,000.

if it were Mrs P Gone Wild I think you'd get A LOT more hits...
So I'm on a tablet and neither the pen nor the track pad are fast or accurate enough to do well. I need a trackball or a mouse. I got to level 5 but I know I could have done better with a better pointing device.

Oh great, another thing to waste time.
Hated the map! Nice concept though, needs a zooming map.
Got disgusted with it when I couldn't get within 200 km of Boston but under 100 km for Madrid. So I opted out. Now it's time to get back to work . . .

Hmm
That was fun! I got up to 481,539 points on level 11 which (apparently) gives me a travel IQ of 116.
I made most mistakes in South America, and Central & South East Asia. Need to look at my atlas a bit more...

Level 11! Damn, Jules...you rock.
I only got to level 7.

This looks fun, but I can't find my mouse for my laptop and I'm horrible without it...plus the map is entirely too small (and I've got 20/20 vision)! I got to level 6, but that was due to a few 'oops' clicks in the middle of Africa or an ocean while trying to scroll. Dd and I have lots of fun playing a similar game on her interactive globe - you have 45 seconds to locate as many places on the globe as possible)...I think I like the 3D format better!

I didn't get past Level 8
286,876
IQ: 103
I got within 50 km on some places.
I did much, much worse with places in Central and Southern Africa - I was embarrassingly off with some of those.

my traveler iq is 104. i second all of the comments regarding the smallish screen.

Traveler IQ: 107
I'm not sure how good that is, but 107 sounds kinda low for an IQ.

I got a score of 115. And I came within 90 miles of Tel Aviv.

I love geography though, I'm weird.

Heh, yeah - Canada is one of those places where just clicking in the right country right doesn't count for much. I missed Calgary by about 2400 km.

Of course, trying to put Suriname in the wrong continent didn't help much either. The message in the score window after that one said, "This is Earth. You know that, right?" A bit snide for a quiz, I thought.

I did get Edinburgh within 2 km, though - pretty much by accident.

Best so far is Level 8, 285,862 points, 102 IQ.
Amended, Level 10, 387,633 IQ of 113. (Of course it gets easier when you do it a few times...)

After finding my mouse (yay) I played again and got a final score of 368,080, IQ: 111. I think it's funny, though, how the 'very difficult' world cities are sometimes determined by knowledge of the city and not the country. Not too hard to get a good guess on a random city in Italy, now is it? I always have the hardest time locating islands when you can't even see them on the tiny map. I should have dd play one of the other versions. She's my little 6-year old geography whiz!

Oh, and I got Brussels within 4 km, which is nice since I lived only about 30 minutes from Brussels for 3 years

- also managed to get Lesotho, Tel Aviv, Mt. Rushmore, and Brunei within 30 km...not too shabby!
This is one of the most fun time-wasters I've played online! Thanks for sharing it! Have you tried any of the other challenges? The world flag one is really difficult. Not only do you have to immediately identify the flag (hard enough in and of itself), but you have to locate the country, too. I know a lot of world flags, but certainly not all of them and not well enough to be think about that and the location at the same time! Too much multi-tasking for my brain!

You guys might also want to try the
USA Challenge at the same site - the map is a bit easier to contend with and I got a lot of places within 30km or less. I've made it to level 8 a couple of times (this one only has eight levels), but haven't made it through level 8 (I guess there's a bonus level or something). There are a few "city nicknames", though, that I didn't even know existed. I'm off to try
Europe now.
