According to CNN, Chavez made a statement:
QUOTE
"I will ask Europe to remove the ELN and the FARC from the list of terrorist groups in the world, because that only has one source: the pressure of the United States," Chavez said. He argued, "I say this even though somebody might be bothered by it: the FARC and the ELN are not terrorist groups. They are armies, real armies ... that occupy a space in Colombia."

He added that the two groups' "insurgent forces" have a goal, "a project," that is "Bolivarian" and that "we respect."

More than once, people on America's debate have supported Chavez. I wonder if it will extend to this thought.

Questions for debate:

1. Is the FARC a terrorist organization, why or why not?

2. Should people in the US still support the mantra/ideology of Chavez if he supports a terrorist organization?

3. Should the US issue any statements/actions against Chavez for his support of the FARC?

Questions for debate:

1. Is the FARC a terrorist organization, why or why not?

Of course – but they are a Socialist oriented terrorist group – thus the Chavez support.

2. Should people in the US still support the mantra/ideology of Chavez if he supports a terrorist organization?

He is a Socialist and we should start looking at him as we do Fidel.

3. Should the US issue any statements/actions against Chavez for his support of the FARC?

Why bother. We just need to protect out interests in Venezuela – interests he would love to confiscate.
