Should the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) have been made a part of the Constitution? Would things be better or worse if it had passed?
My own feeling is that it would have done more good than harm. I also feel, however, that non-governmental changes in society (education, open discussion) would be more helpful in making progress to a less sexist society.
Clearly my opinion reflects my belief that sexism still exists to some extent in the United States, although it is certainly better than in the past or in many other nations.

Section 1. Equality of Rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex.
Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.I like Section 1. Not so sure about Section 2, that could open some cans of worms. Overall, I'd like it if I had more confidence in Congress and the courts to not do something silly with it.
Here's
the kind of feminist I am.

Thank you for this very interesting link. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what I see here. I definitely have leanings in the small-l libertarian direction.

iFeminism is great. That's one of the best sites for female libertarians I've seen.

It's good... yeah.
