I am not bashing Janet Reno, but can someone explain what is going on now in Florida and the democratic primary.

Sure thing.
Fact: (from the AP if you consider that fact)
Janet Reno's opponent in the Democratic Primary was Bill McBride. McBride announced victory after the unofficial returns showed him finishing 8,196 votes ahead of Janet Reno out of ~1.3M total votes.
Reno fell 1,445 votes short of an automatic recount. She says she will not ask for a new election. Her attorney Alan Greer said she hasn't decided whether to ask for a recount or go to court to challenge the results.
The official results will be available next week.
Opinion:
Truth be told, I do not like Florida. I think the Simpson's hit the nail on the head when they called Florida "America's Wang".
They just can't seem to get their act together.
Their new voting machines were not properly implemented, and their election judges did a poor job.
According to Fox News, one of their judges closed the booths down early so he/she wouldn't be late for their Lion's Club meeting. This judge left people at the door who were waiting to vote.
Others didn't know how to turn the machines on, and others didn't know to plug them in.
If she does demand a recount, it only goes to help the Repbulicans in FL. It will turn even more Democrats off in relation to the political process, and it will encourage more Republicans to participate.
Interesting enough, in NC, they had to close some of the polls early due to tropical storm Gustav, and there are no complaints there.
It's a mess. And it's going to get messier.

Heard a joke the other day.... but it might not resonate over the computer
Seems Florida has the new computer voting system...this makes it simpler for residents over 65. now they can vote in seconds see thier results and then wait 20 minutes for the cash to come out.

Yes, I "get" the Joke such as it is. There are many versions of the same so called joke. It is an insult to some of the older residents of Florida. Most of them do not deserve this. However, if the Democrats who run those two counties don't get their acts together it could be very important in the upcoming election.

Marc I don't get it. Explain?
And you'd think I (who has to figure out these mind-boggling 'jokes' day in and day out) would have some slight clue?
Are you sure you didn't mix up two different jokes?
