Last year I posted a link to a camera streaming video from a Bald Eagle aerie in the Channel Islands off the coast of Southern California. That couple produced a single offspring and those of us who followed his progress were rewarded the day he flew the coop so to speak. thumbsup.gif

Well, this year the couple has produced 2 offspring that are growing up pretty fast so I thought I'd re-post the link for those interested in watching.

You can tune in here. Enjoy!!!

Very cool! thumbsup.gif

Is that an identification patch of some sort on the eagle's wing? It seems to say "10."

I think so, Victoria. I think they typically tag every eagle with a unique identifier. I watched them do it last year in this very aerie to the young eaglet just before he was ready to head off to the wild blue yonder. That's no easy feat either. This aerie is like 50 feet in the air and eagles, even young ones don't take kindly to people messing with them. But the people doing this are real professionals and obviously doing an outstanding job. Its nice to see the Bald Eagle flourishing once again in the skies of Southern California.
