(I apologize if I've posted this before - I can't remember and didn't find anything in the Casual Conversation section)

Animal Planet has jumped on the reality show bandwagon with a show called "Groomer Has It". The show's premise is just like other reality shows; each week there is a challenge, and the loser goes home, whittling away until one is left the winner. In this case, the winner gets $50K and a mobile grooming van. And yes, the competitors are just as annoying as any other reality show. laugh.gif

Shameless plug: I got a call a couple of months ago asking if I'd like my dog Remy (she's a red Chow Chow) to be on one of the episodes. Well, heck yeah! The show premiered last week, and there have been 2 eliminations so far. I think Remy will be on next week or the following week's episode. Her groomer is "Artist". The show is on Saturdays at 9pm ET. Please watch!

Just wanted to share my diva doggy story with y'all. biggrin.gif

So, does anyone else have a "celebrity" dog? An agility champ? A service dog or a therapy dog? Share your doggy story!

No stories to share -- my cats are not celebrities -- but I just wanted to say that this is very cool! thumbsup.gif

Good luck to you, Daffy. I briefly thought about entering Abigail into a dog show at one time, but she'd probably want to eat the competition. She's a Republican doncha know. laugh.gif

All cats are celebrities...in their own minds! biggrin.gif Mine are all cute enough for show biz, but somehow I doubt they'd cooperate. "You want me to do what? Hmmm, nope, I think I'll just sit here and lick my butt" cat.gif laugh.gif

Aquilla - heee! I can't resist - a Re"pug"lican. w00t.gif Remy's not a purebred, and all the Chows in the episode came from Adopt-a-Chow LA rescue. It's kind of ironic - she was rescued from the South Central LA shelter, and Artist, her groomer, is from South Central. Serendipity!

Re"Pug"lican! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif I'm gonna steal that one from you, Daffy. That's a really good one. thumbsup.gif

I'll be watching and rooting for your four-legged friend next Saturday. Best of luck to you both, even though you and Remy are winners either way. flowers.gif

Well, jeez, it took them long enough, but the Chow Chow episode of Groomer Has It will finally be on next Saturday, May 17. Watch for my girlie! (I hope she behaves herself wub.gif )

It's soooo typically reality show - all the snarky comments, all the prima donna personalities, but it's also funny to see how well (or not) they handle the animals, which are not always dogs, as tonight's episode proved. They had to groom Himalayan cats, which are cranky, bad-tempered little critters under the best of conditions. I'll take my "alley cats" any day. cat.gif
